Fabulous Friday Update!

Hello Parents & Guardians!
We hope your children had a great week, we know we did.

**Parent Volunteers for Centers start on Tuesday! Please remember to be here at 10:00AM so we can explain the center you will be running to you. You will be in charge of that center for the entire time and will work with 4 different groups of students, including the one your child is in. You will be finished around 11:30AM.

**We will be having Portfolio Filing Parent Work Days! We like to keep some of the work your students have done to put in their portfolio. However, in order to do this, we need your help! We will be having TWO Portfolio Filing Days:
*Tuesday, September 18 @ 8:30-10:00 AM
*Thursday, September 20 @ 1:30-3:00 PM

If you are available one or both of these days and would like to help us out, please email Mrs. Kochis @ amy.kochis@asu.edu no later than Friday, September 7th. Thank you so much for your help!

**The Little Clinic and Fry's Pharmacy are doing a Teddy Bear Clinic for us and our students on Wednesday, September 12th @ 9:00 AM. Your child will need to bring a small stuffed animal as part of this activity. A letter went home this week with more information about the clinic, with a portion for you to sign. If you did not get this letter, please let us know and we will send a copy home with your child on Tuesday.

**Thank you to everyone for helping your child practice their math skills on iXL! However, we did notice that there are several students who did not log-on to iXL at all the past week. While we understand that everyone is busy, it is absolutely important that students are practicing math skills we are learning in class. Starting this coming week, we will be listing the skills your child needs to practice on iXL. These skills will correspond directly with concepts we are working on in class, so it is vital that your child is practicing them at home. We print a weekly report every Friday, and any child that has not logged on to iXL and practiced at home will be staying in from recess the following Monday to do their iXL homework. Thank you so much, your help & support is invaluable!

Have a wonderful 3-day weekend, we hope all of you get a chance to relax! =)

Weekly Update!

Hello Parents & Guardians!
We're ready to start another fantastic week! Here's what you need to know:

*We will be starting to use iXL as part of your child's homework this week. A piece of paper will be stapled to your child's homework containing their username and password for iXL. Please make sure to only log-in using the information given specifically to your child! This allows us to see your child's progress and provide additional support at school. There is a letter on orange paper sent home with your child providing more details about how to log-on to iXL.

*Picture Day will be on Thursday August 23rd. You should have received a picture packet last week. You must pre-pay. There will be picture retakes. You may wear nice dress clothes for the picture. If your child is not getting their picture taken they must wear their uniform.

*The last day to order your Scholastic Books is Monday, August 27th.

*We will be begin our parent volunteers for centers in September. We will send out a schedule Tuesday for your review, then we will send out the finalized schedule on Friday. Please make sure to check your email this week and review the schedule - we want to make sure we have everyone scheduled as much as we can on days that work for them! =) We are excited to have parents involved during this important part of our school day.

*Last call for the directory! If you want your email address and/or phone number included in the Kindergarten directory, please go to the link below:
tinyurl.com/KinderParentDirectory
We will send out this directory by the end of the week.

Your children are doing a wonderful job! We've had an amazing 3 weeks and are looking forward to this week. =)

Marvelous Monday!

Hello Parents & Guardians!
We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is ready for the first full week of Kindergarten!
Just a few things to get our week going:

1] We need parent email addresses/phone numbers to create a Kindergarten Parent Directory. Please follow the link and enter only the information you wish to share with our classroom parents.
http://tinyurl.com/KinderParentDirectory

2] Homework has gone home for this week. Homework is to be returned on Friday and addresses the concepts we will be teaching this week.

3] We are missing 2" binders from just a few students, please make sure to send those in as soon as possible, we already have work we'd like to file in them for their portfolio!

4] Your students have been doing a wonderful job coming in the classroom independently! We are super impressed. This Friday will be the last day you can walk in with your students, so please prepare them.  Thank you!

5] We are going to begin working on the volunteer schedule for centers. If you have not turned in your center volunteer form, please do so as soon as possible.

6] Please do not forget to send a waterbottle with your child! It is supposed to be very warm this week! We will only be going out in the mornings, but it still gets hot out there. Thank you.

Your students are doing a great job and we know this will be another fabulous week!
